Lea T Transforms Beauty Norms

Fashion model Lea T. is making history as first transgender to front a global cosmetics campaign.

There she is, shifting the traditional beauty norms.Lea T. is the transgender Brazilian model who became famous several years ago when she posed nude for French Vogue as a 'he', at least physically. After appearing in various magazines, Lea has now scored a lucrative beauty campaign. She has signed both print and digital campaigns with the global hair care brand Redken.

The campaign will celebrate individuality. "We're all people with our own personality, our own beauty, our own life," said Lea T. to the press, "I love working with Redken because they appreciate all kinds of beauty. They believe in the individuality of the person, and I think that's really important."

While much of the attention paid to Lea T. has to do with her gender and transition, this campaign promises to go beyond the obvious and highlight the inner beauty. Once again, it seems like Difference is Beautiful .
