Sunsets Are Awesome

When I was walking my dog after tea I noticed how pretty the sky was. There were grey clouds and the setting sun was giving them a pink tinge around the edges. I didn't have my camera with me so I wasn't able to get photos but I enjoyed the moment. Each sunset is different. Most days I am not aware of the setting sun because I am busy doing things inside.

Most people would say a sunset can be awesome, especially those who are photographers or poets. People from all walks of life have made a comment about the sunset which has been written down.

Many would list the sunset as one of the glories of nature. The American artist, Thomas Kincade said, 'Everyone can identify with a fragrant garden, with beauty of sunset, with the quiet of nature, with a warm and cozy cottage.' These might be simple pleasures but they can make one feel happy and contented.

I like the way American writer and educator, Sharon Draper, talks about the small joys, the simple things that make her happy. She says, 'Perfect happiness is a beautiful sunset, the giggle of a grandchild, the first snowfall. It's the little things that make happy moments, not the grand events. Joy comes in sips, not gulps.' I agree with her sentiment about the sweet simple things of life .
