Laneways 6

This is a series of lane ways in an arcade in Sydney, rather than just one lane way on its own. This arcade has a series of levels with lots of different types of shops throughout. You can sit on the ground level and have a coffee or tea from the very special little tea room. You will no doubt notice the very vibrant patterns of the tiles beneath your feet. These tiles set the tone for the whole environment, classic and formal.

Then you can wander, and wander. Up and down the stair cases. Up and down each lane way. You can window shop or enter the small door ways. The windows have been carefully decorated to provide an artistic wonderland. It can be hard sometimes to know what it is you would be buying in the shop because creativity has taken over.This is in such contrast to the ruthless selling techniques we often see in shop windows in modern shopping centres.

There's a quietness in this arcade, a quiet dignity and respect. It's clear that it's a place for decorum, not for noise or mindless chatter. It's a place to take your time, to relish the joy of the architecture and the shops. Not a place to rush or buy without thought.

It could be a place you visit on special occasions. Not a place you just pop into. It's a place you want to cherish, savour and really enjoy.Contrast it to your usual shopping experiences with their noise and clutter.
