Bring Holiday Memories Back to Life

It's been a while now since I had the excitement and anticipation of planning a holiday. Although I've had some weekends away and the opportunity to travel with work it's not the same as the positive energy that comes from a big overseas trip.

I was reminded of this today as I went back through my old holiday photos. I enjoy looking at them and remembering where the photograph was taken, who I was with and most importantly how I felt. There's nothing like the relaxation that a holiday brings. Away from the day to day stress of home and work, you are able to look forward to each day with excitement and a curiosity that almost feels impossible at home with its familiarity.

When I look at some photographs I notice that they haven't exactly captured the feeling I had at the time so I've recently been dabbling in digital art to try to recapture some of the emotion that I felt at the time. This seems to work well and the creative aspect to this taps into a different part of my brain - probably an area not used often enough.Then the enhanced version of the photograph as the final outcome even further enriches the whole experience. It truly brings those holiday memories alive again.
