Being accepted as part of a community is good,
Joined together, knowing you are understood,
Talking to each other, knowledge sharing,
Showing empathy and lots of caring.

Sharing info about customs and special holidays,
Explaining to those from abroad our Aussie ways,
Learning from others, listening when we meet,
Achieving understanding and harmony is a two way street.

What is important to people from another land?
Through discussions we come to understand
All people, security and love surely need,
A home, family, friends, whatever their creed.
