After a prolonged time fiercely resisting advanced technology, it is an unexpected pleasure to have been recently dragged into the 21st century.
While in hospital, family I hadn't seen for some time came to visit. We got our mobile phones out to swap numbers. They had a good giggle when they spied my ancient, dinosauric example.
I was not phased / embarrassed in the least - I only needed a basic device to text and call with. So unsavvy, I can't even drive the tv or DVD player, the thought of trying to get my head around a new way of doing things was just too much.
Fast forward a week or so, said family arrived with what they said was an extra phone they only stored music on.
Ignorant of what a smartphone was, the price and what it could actually do, it took about a week to open my eyes. If I had to have worked the thing out myself, it would have been frustratingly flung out the window.
I now understand the urge to be antisocial in company, don't know why I thought it would be so hard. There is at present a continuing learning curve but a lot of fun and well worth it.
I love my new phone! Thanks fam xxx...
