Do you have a friend who likes to complain to you about their life? All the time?

Is this person bringing you down? Raining on your parade?

Is this a friend or foe?

We care about our friends, we care about their lives, their hardships and their triumphs. We want to be there for them. But when you're left feeling sad and depressed after talking to them, what should you do?

My thoughts are that the friend should be seeing a councillor or psychologist to talk about their problems, not you, their friend.

Sometimes it takes a professional to help the person through their battles. I'm not qualified and can't quite cope with their problems and my own.

We love our friends and want the best for them, but when this affects your own happiness, it may be paying a price too high.

We live through ups and downs, we cry together and laugh together. We take the good with the bad. Sometimes we need the knowledge and advice of a person with the answers.
