The stick says positive ! That's lovely congratulations. As a first step, take it easy for a couple of days and sink in the good news. While it can be overwhelming happiness, here are a few tips that might come in handy during this time.

The announcement :Some women wait till the scan of the 12th week to communicate the good news. Plan a creative way to let people know the good news and celebrate along with you. May be a countdown on the social media for the announcement or just say you will reveal a surprise for everyone at a given date.

Your body and diet: You need access to good sources of vitamins, minerals and mainly iron. Having greens and snacking on nuts is a good idea. Try to avoid too much intake of sugar with gestation diabetes a common these days. Eat atleast 300-350 calories more every day. Don't fight cravings and remember to enjoy every meal to your hearts content. Chew your food well as the last thing you need is to suffer from indigestion. Just like your emotions, your body goes through a lot of changes. Moisturise your body regularly. You don't want to have dry skin and itchiness. The next best thing to do is ask your doctor for anything you need attention.

Being Careful: It is obvious you need to be extra careful now. Investing in a good pair of flats would be ideal. Watch your step when you walk and avoid texting or looking at your phone while you walk. If you have to pick something else, instead of bending over, sit down to pick things up.

Shopping : We love shopping and this is a time to not feel guilty about being a shopaholic. Invest in stretchy maternity clothes and loose pants. Try to wear something that you are always comfortable in. Anything that is tight or overly heavy can be avoided. Also the best possible way to carry anything is your backpack. You might want to forget your handbag for a while. A backpack can be handy to carry your snacks and water.

Stay away from negativity: It's better not to think too much about anything that will worry you or instil negativity. Try to listen to good music, take deep breaths and smile as often as you can and most important is to be with family and friends who love you truly.

During Summer : Keep yourself indoors on hot days and be hydrated. While you can feel cool, your baby necessarily wont so being hydrated is important.

Leg ache : Many pregnant women complain of foot ache. Take a tub and fill in with some luke warm water and immerse your foot in it. It will relieve your pain and make you sleep better.

Sleeping : Sleeping one side during later months can be little difficult. Try to support your tummy with a pregnancy pillow.

Exercise : While it's ok to exercise when you are pregnant, it is imperative you keep yourself hydrated. Ensure you don't overshoot your body temperature. Yoga and Pilates are mostly recommended as they relax your muscles.

Baby Shower : Enjoy being celebrated. You deserve this. Allow your friends to have a baby shower for you and enjoy every second of it.

Plan your day : It is absolutely handy to plan your day. If you are leaving out after work for dinner, it is better to be prepared with some snack before you go for dinner. Always carry a bottle of water with you. Prepare to leave early wherever you are going, You don't want to stress over time or take bigger steps while walking.

Stepping out : Even if it is for a small walk, never step out without a phone or your sandals. Keep yourself equipped for communication.

The List : Make a list of all the things you need for your big day. Board this bag in the car few days before your due date and let it move with you. Also you will need a car seat from day 1 which you should have as a first item in your list.
